Senior Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive tenders for mechanical construction projects, including equipment installation, piping, platework and associated structural steelwork.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyse tender documents and prepare quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates.
• Develop labour, material, plant and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate supplier quotations, construction methodologies and tender submissions.
• Identify pricing and execution risks, mentor junior estimators and hand over awarded estimates to project teams.

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12, with a relevant technical qualification or mechanical trade qualification advantageous.
• 8–10 years’ relevant mechanical construction and estimating experience, including at least 5 years preparing detailed estimates and managing complex tenders.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication and installation methods.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in estimating software.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet demanding deadlines.
• Mining, industrial construction and African project experience advantageous.
